We certainly are experiencing a stressful time. While we are facing uncertainty about employment, childcare, our health and our communities; moving through pregnancy right now can feel overwhelming. In my #mindfulmonday chat today, we talked about different ways to combat stress from affirmations, to activities, to sharing with others. If you have not watched this week's video, I encourage you to do so! I have attached a few coloring pages that might be soothing. I mentioned the app 29k and wanted to share the website (click here) as well. As always, please reach out if you need someone to talk to or have any questions about resources in your area. I am taking birth doula clients virtually and you can find a breakdown of my services on the "services" page of this website.
All the light and love, Rebekah

3/26/2020 0 Comments Your Virtual DoulaI have created virtual packages for those of you who need care during the COVID-19 pandemic REGARDLESS of what type of birth you are planning. Many hospitals have implemented policies where only one support person (usually the partner) is permitted. In extreme cases, hospitals are not allowing anyone to accompany the birthing person throughout labor and birth. Home births are being heavily explored during this time, but quarantine measures are still having to be considered for the safety of the family.
As your virtual doula, I will meet with you online (skype, facetime or zoom) for your prenatal and postpartum appointments to talk about comfort measures, emotional resiliency and work through the options that you still have. I also provide a full service option where I am on call, per usual, and will be available through labor to text, call, or facetime/ skype. In the event the hospital will allow a doula to be present, and you live within 50 miles of Dayton, Ohio, I will attend your birth in person. This offer is available regardless of where you live. This is the beautiful thing about technology! Click below to see all your virtual doula options! Hey friends! I am so excited to announce that I am organizing a doula and client meet and greet with Tonic Dayton in downtown Dayton on Thursday, March 5th. This event is so important to me because it promotes not only a strong support system for expecting parents, but also each other. As helpers, we cannot pour into others with an empty cup. I will be getting on my soap box for about 15 minutes to chat about why the presence of a doula is so valuable as well as sharing some mental health resources for expecting families AND clinicians. Expecting parents, I hope this evening connects you with birth workers in the area that will empower you to explore all your options around birth. My goal is for you to feel heard and to find some people to put in your corner to support you in the way that you want to be supported! Doulas, I hope that this evening reminds you why you do what you do. Our work is so valuable and needed! Click on the image below to learn more about the event! I hope to see you Thursday!
